The Process
From a few drops of breastmilk to a forever keepsake.
The idea of ordering breastmilk jewellery can be daunting and it's understandable to have questions about the process. Here's a step by step guide on exactly how everything works, from the moment you press 'order' to your finished jewellery coming through your letterbox.

Step 1 - Placing Your Order
Your journey to breastmilk jewellery starts with placing your order. Orders can placed through the website (or via invoice for custom orders). To place an order simply make your selections and add them to cart. Unless otherwise stated, orders for multiple items will be sent one collection kit/milk tube per order. If you need more collection kits or milk tubes, or have any other requirements (e.g. upcoming address change), you can use the 'Note for Becky' section on the cart page to inform me of this. If you'd like a ring and are unsure of your ring size, all ring listings have 'Ring Sizer' as an option in the Ring Size drop down menu. If you select this option I will send you a ring sizer with your breastmilk collection kit with which you can check your ring size. Once your order is placed you will receive a confirmation via email - check your spam/junk if this doesn't appear right away.

Step 2 - Your Breastmilk Collection Kit
Upon receipt of your order I will prepare your breastmilk collection kit. These are included in the price of all jewellery and contain everything you need to send your breastmilk to me. As standard, a breastmilk collection kit contains:
-
A 5ml breastmilk collection tube
-
A gripseal bag with your order affixed to it
-
An instruction leaflet (the reverse of this is your ring size chart)
-
A pre-paid and addressed return postal envelope
-
It will also contain a plastic ring sizer if you have selected 'Ring Sizer'

The breastmilk collection tube will be wrapped in a small amount of bubble wrap to protect it, the tube is watertight and very durable and this protection is all it needs. Please don't add any extra packaging or tape the tube shut - doing so increases the chance of damage upon opening and also the use of extra packaging could invalidate the return postage label. Once you receive your breastmilk collection kit simply follow the enclosed instructions to prepare and return it. Upon receipt of your breastmilk collection kit I will send you a confirmation emaill so you know it has arrived safely.

Step 3 - The Making of Your Breastmilk Jewellery
The rest is down to me!
Once I have received your breastmilk collection kit I will preserve your breastmilk - this is always done on the day of receipt and the breastmilk is never frozen or waiting to be preserved for long periods. After preservation, your breastmilk will dry for several days or weeks until it is ready to be ground into the fine powder that is required to combine it with resin and create your breastmilk stone. The final stage of the process is to combine your breastmilk into your chosen metal setting before polishing and packaging it and sending it home to you.
Once your breastmilk jewellery is finished and on the way, you will receive a shipping confirmation email which will include your tracking number. Your finished jewellery is sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 service (or Special Delivery for 9ct Gold) so will typically arrive in around 48 hours. It's progress towards you can be tracked via Royal Mail. No signature is required for receipt of your jewellery and the packaging fits through a standard letterbox - so no need to worry about being home to meet the postman.
If you have any questions about the process, please check the FAQ page and feel free to reach out if the answer isn't covered.
