Breastmilk jewellery can be worn and loved for many years with gentle handling and good aftercare (see here for aftercare guidance) but even then you notice some tarnishing of the metal or scuffing of the stone after a lot of wear. If you'd like to bring it back to looking it's best for an event or because you're wary of cleaning it yourself, that's exactly what the Polish and Refresh service is for.
What Is the Polish and Refresh Service?
The polish and refresh service is a way to get your breastmilk jewellery repaired or cleaned by Becky. It is also possible to repair/rework jewellery which has been made elsewhere if the original maker is unable to undertake this for you, but please contact me here to discuss this before submitting an order. The jewellery will be taken apart as a part of this service and polished by machine and hand. The breastmilk stone will be polished and re-topcoated too to restore the protective layer and shine.
What can I send?
If your breastmilk jewellery was made by Boobie Jewels and has sustained minor scuffing, scratches or is looking a bit dirty/dull from lots of wear, you can send this using the service. If you jewellery has sustained major damage and is broken/stone missing please contact me here before placing an order to discuss next steps as more breastmilk/spare breastmilk may be required to be able to complete a repair.
Is any breastmilk required?
No breastmilk is required to be sent for this service, however if your jewellery has become majorly damaged (accidents happen!) or a stone is missing more breastmilk may be needed to fix it if there is no spare preserved milk leftover from your order.
How long does the Polish and Refresh take?
The typical turnaround for a polish and refresh service is 2-3 weeks from receipt of your jewellery. If you'd like your jewellery cleaning for a special event, we would recommend placing your order a month or so in advance of this.
What happens after I order?
After placing your order, you’ll receive a jewellery return kit in the post which contains everything you need to send your jewellery. You will receive email confirmation of your order, the dispatch of your kit and also confirmation of our receipt of the jewellery.
